Hello! I am a professional communicator based in Chicago. At present, I am the Communications Coordinator for the Elks National Foundation; I joined the nonprofit’s staff in August 2019. I’m passionate about communications for so many reasons: I love to write, I am a perfectionist through and through, and I appreciate the fluidity of perspective and voice, to name a few.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December 2018 with a master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a focus on community and civic engagement reporting. I’ve reported on election integrity and voting rights, mental health, gender and equality, arts and culture, and breaking news in Chicago; Madison, Wisconsin; and Buffalo, New York. My experience includes investigative reporting, feature writing, and profile work. My published pieces have been shared by news outlets across the country.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in Communication at the University at Buffalo in 2017. My interests include using digital tools to boost community engagement in storytelling; social justice and advocacy reporting; enhancing communication with empathy and kindness; and strength-based communication. My hobbies include cooking, reading, and weaving. My favorite punctuation mark is the em dash.
